Ok, yeah Darian, sorry for stealing your screen name, but it was the first thing that came to my mind!
Well, in the midst of trips, illnesses, dances, 18 credits, and a myriad other aspects of life, I've been devoting my time to a couple of projects that I'm finally almost done with. And here they are!
Starting with this little guy...
I'm thinking his name is Pinhead, given that he is a pincushion. I borrowed the idea from a crafting blog to make an anime marshmallow pincushion. True, he turned out to be slightly base-ball-ish, but he serves his purpose.
Next is my sock Cthulhu kÉ™-THOO-loo (the idea of which, I also borrowed) It's basically a modified sock monkey who has been modeled to look like H. P. Lovecraft's fictional demon of the same name. I couldn't find any green socks to make him with, so I ended up dyeing some white ones. I also used a sewing maching for the first time in 5 years, so I'm pretty pleased.
And last but not least, is my vintage suitcase!
$5 from DI. I washed all the scuff marks from the outside, tore out the lining, and relined the inside with modpodge and a wood-patterned ConTact paper.
So I'm feeling pretty crafty lately.
Jeffrey, those look great. I've already seen them in person, and they are awesome. You are a "crafty guy."
ReplyDeleteMUCH LOVE!
i'd say your crafty! you have been busy.
ReplyDeletemy personal favorite is "pinhead." his hair is wild and crazy, and a little dangerous.
i see the glue worked out, the wood grain was a fine choice.
keep up that craftin' bug.
nice inside of the suitcase. from the comment above, it sounds like melinda pointed you in the right direction. excited for you to get to use it when you come this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI hope you continue to explore this "crafty guy side" of you and maybe you can make me an amazing Christmas gift or Birthday gift... when the time is right.
